In 2006, I noticed some entrepreneur brought in large
shower facility on wheels.  I believe it cost $5 to start
the shower, then a $1 every minute. Its nice for the
tent campers.

RV's are not allowed in the infield of the Speedway
unless you wish to purchase a special permit from the
track for $4000. This is intended for race teams and
Beginning in 2014 the speedway is selling camping spots inside
the infield!

IMS provides high quality weatherproof set-up tents, a table with
two chairs, a tarp floor, private restroom and shower facilities, a
private lock and access to cell phone charging stations, ice and
water sales. There will also be a community area with grilling
stations. Two people per tent.
Most of the camping area around the Speedway is owned by the Speedway.

You must purchase parking passes for your RV or camper from the speedway in advance.
Simply go to their Web Site's
Camping and RV Camping page

or call their Ticket Office at 1-800-822-4639

The Speedway offers electricity to campers though a partnership with
McAllister Machinery.

Electric service passes are an additional $175 for 30 AMP service or

setup as well as a 24 hour on site technician to manage any issue you
might have.

McAllister Machinery will provide electric service to campers in Lot 3
Pavement, Lot 4, Lot 4A Premium, Lot 5, as well as Lot 6; each lot is
available with 30 AMP or 50 AMP service with the exception of Lot 4A
Premium that will offer only 50 AMP service for those choosing to
participate in this offer.

RV Camping in these lots is offered as a 4-day pass for the Indianapolis
500. Service is provided from 7 a.m. either Wednesday or Thursday
(depending on the event) through Monday after the event at 12 noon.
These passes are all sold in dry camping capacity
