A few rookie drivers return to IndyCar this year and are still considered rookies
since they did not race the whole season.  

These drivers are
Pat O'Ward, now racing for the new Arrow McLaren SP team
Ben Hanley who is back with DragonSpeed Racing.

Scott McLaughlin, a rookie, will race at the GMR Grand Prix for Team Penske.
Felipe Nasr, a rookie, will race at the first IndyCar event - St. Pete - for Carlin.
It's possible he will become a full-time driver.

Last year, IndyCar had
6 Rookies.
