FOX IndyCar World Cup Promotion
June 8 - The biggest soccer tournament in the world - The World Cup, takes place every four years.
Nations vie against nations and the games will be hosted this year across 16 cities in North America.
IndyCar's broadcaster, FOX, will be carrying the games. It all starts June 11th.
In a promotional tie-in with IndyCar, twelve IndyCar drivers wore special race suits yesterday that
mimicked the soccer uniforms worn by their home countries.

Pike Peaks Hill Climb
June 21 - Several records were broken at the Pikes Peak "Race to the Clouds" in
Colorado Springs on a sunny day.
The course is 12.42 miles, rises 4,700' and has 156 turns.
Romain Dumas claimed his sixth overall victory in the Unlimited class with a time of 8:18.
Robin Shute finished 2nd over all with a time of 8:29, breaking the record in the Super
Unlimited class with his RWD Sendycar V1. Along the way, he hit an animal.

Colorado Springs native and King of the Mountain David Donner added another chapter
to his storied Pikes Peak career by setting a new production car record in his 2022
Porsche Turbo S. Donner’s time of 9:53.740 bested the previous mark of 10:12
established by Rhys Millen in 2023.
Jim Morris broke the FWD Unlimited record in a 2014 VW Golf with a time of 10;33
minutes.
Several cars went off track, but the only driver hurt was Patrick Culligan in a Super
Unlimited car. Air-lifted to the hospital, he underwent surgery to repair a broken pelvis
and right femur. A titanium rod was inserted to stabilize the femur, and he is expected to
make a full recovery.
JR Hildebrand Won the Time Attack 1 Class

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X

Ex-IndyCar driver JR Hildebrand shattered the record for a production car in the new
Corvette ZR1X, which was this year's Indy 500 Pace Car. Hildebrand made it up the
mountain in 9:30 minutes. The previous record was 9:53, set in 2022 by a Porsche 911
Turbo S.
