Four racing series will compete in separate races over the weekend.
Attracting the best Pro, Pro-Am and Amateur sports car drivers from North America and around
the world, the Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America is the premier one-make championship
on the continent, with drivers competing in identical 510 HP Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992)
race cars. They will have two 40-minute races.
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo is one of the most competitive one-make championships in the
world, taking place on the famous circuits across Europe, North America and Asia, with drivers
competing in identical Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 race cars with 620 HP. They will have two
50-minute races.
The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge features sports cars from 12 worldwide manufacturers.
The series has two different homologated classes: Grand Sport SRO GT4 cars (450 HP)
and Touring WSC TCR cars (350 HP). They will have one 4-Hour race.
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features two styles of cars –
* Prototype, which showcases the latest automotive technology and are uniquely
designed for the racetrack, and
* GT, which is based on road-going production models.
These two styles of cars make up the series’ five classes –
Grand Touring Prototype (GTP),
Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2),
Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3),
GT Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) and
GT Daytona (GTD).
They will have one 2-Hour and 40-minute race.
Each car also has an LED display on the side that shows the position of the car in the race
within its class. In the example above, the car is running in 5th place in the LMP3 class.
All classes in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship race at the same time.
To help fans identify which class a car is in, The car's number plate is a color that
corresponds to a class:
BLACK = GTP
BLUE = LMP2
ORANGE = LMP3
RED = GTD PRO
GREEN = GTD
Often, the mirrors and wing end-plates are colored as well.
For example -
The orange paint on the car below, indicates it is in the LMP3 class.
