Indy 500 Festival Car
April 4 - The Festival Event Cars are a
unique option code based off the 2022
Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible and
are powered by a 6.2-liter small block
V-8, which offers 455 horsepower and
455 pound-feet of torque.

The car features Wild Cherry Tintcoat paint with a Ceramic White interior, a power-folding convertible
top, Brembo front and rear performance brakes with red calipers and 20-inch black-painted aluminum
wheels.
April 20 - Indy 500 practice. Scott Dixon went fastest with average lap speed of
225.622 mph. Rookies Callum Ilott, David Malukas, Kyle Kirkwood and
Christian Lundgaard passed orientation test. Colton Herta and Helio Castroneves
both wrecked and are ok.
April 19 - Paretta Autosport, with driver Simona de Silvestro, is skipping the Indy
500 this year, but are teaming up with Ed Carpenter Racing to compete at Road
America, Mid-Ohio and Nashville IndyCar races.
April 20 - IMS suspends 70-year Indy 500 tradition of the pre-race balloon release,
because they might harm wildlife once they descend.
April 27 - There is a change to qualifying. Instead of the 9 Fastest drivers from 1st
Day of Quals having a shoot-out on Sunday, the 12 fastest drivers will re-qualify on
Sunday and the fastest 6 will have a shoot-out, determining pole position.
