Junquira Will Race in Indy 500
Apr 4 - Veteran Indy car driver Bruno Junqueira has been hired to drive A.J. Foyt Racing’s second entry in the Indianapolis 500, the No. 84 ABC
Supply Dallara powered by Honda. Junqueira, the 2002 Indy 500 pole winner, reached an agreement with Team Director Larry Foyt last Thursday to
be a teammate to Vitor Meira, who drives the team’s No. 14 ABC Supply Dallara. A.J. Foyt Jr said, "With two Brazillian drivers, I may have to start
learning Portuguese. Not! Anyway, this sounds like a great lineup for Foyt if these driver's luck will just turn around.

The Donald To Pace 500
Apr 5 - Business magnate and potential 2012 presidential
candidate Donald Trump will drive the Pace Car in the
upcoming Indianapolis 500.
"It's a great honor to be selected as the Pace Car driver for
such an American institution as the 100th anniversary of the
Indianapolis 500," Trump said. "The Indianapolis 500 has
been the gold standard of motorsports for a century, and I
can't wait to get behind the wheel of the Camaro and bring
the famous field of 33 drivers to the green flag."
I wonder if this will be his first time in a Chevrolet.

World Record Stunt for Indy 500
Apr 13 - The toy manufacturer of Hot Wheels is setting up a
life-size version of their track in the infield of the Indy
Speedway.
Before the start of the Indy 500, They will send a car down a
100 ft vertical track and to a ramp where they will attempt to
break the world-record distance jump of 302 feet in a
four-wheeled vehicle.
Also, Hot Wheels is making one of their little toy cars
designed by Danica Patrick, called the Danicar. She says it
will have 6 wheels and look like an IndyCar in the front and a
stock car in the rear and boys will be able to stick their own
car number on it. I want one!

Carb Day Concert Act Announced
Apr 28 - The hard rock band Staind and
special guest Papa Roach will fill the bill at
this year's Carb Day concert on Friday, May
27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The concert, free with track general
admission of $20, will start at 3:30 p.m. (ET)
on the Miller Lite Stage in the IMS infield.
