RON DENNIS PROMOTED OUT OF F1
Jan 16 - Ron Dennis has turned command of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team over to Martin Whitmarsh, 51. Dennis, 61, has led the
F1 effort for the past 30 years. He has led McLaren to championships in 2008 (Lewis Hamilton), 1998 &1999 (Mika Hakkinen), 1988 & 1990 &
1991 (Ayrton Senna), 1985 & 1986 & 1989 (Alain Prost), 1984 (Niki Lauda) and 1976 (James Hunt).
Dennis will now work on expanding all of the companies that make up the McLaren group.
