The weather was pretty nice today. Rain was predicted for late in the day, but it never came.
Yesterday's big story was Kenny Brack hopping into the Rahal-Letterman car and qualifying faster than the pole sitter, Tony Kanaan. None the less, Brack will start back in 23rd spot since he qualified during the 2nd weekend. He's filling in for an injured 2004 Indy 500 champ Buddy Rice, who coincidentally had filled in for an injured Kenny Brack last year.

Here is Alex Barron walking out of his garage.

Big Al Unser was stopped for autographs. I recently read his brother Bobby's autobiography and asked Al if he intended to write one, but he said he wasn't any writer!

The Firestone garage had a cool display of the qualified cars.

Here's Jeff Simmons from the Infiniti Pro Series posing for photos with an Alley Cat.

Arie Luyendyk, Jr. managed to get qualified, but then Foyt called up Giaffone and invited him to try his #48. He drove in from the northside and hopped in this car and by golly he went out and knocked Luyendyk Jr right out of the show. Oh well, Arie is young, he has many 500's ahead for himself.

I went out to the track alone today, but ran into Brian and his work buddies. We headed over to the Red Bull tent.

Eventually, Eddie Cheever showed up to party!
