Barringers Tavern - 2535 S Meridian St - 783-3663
This neat bar was clean and had lots of large, old racing pictures from the Indy 500. They have a large dining room. This bar has had the same location and name since 1879! You won't have music distracting you from conversation.

Bubbaz - Southport Rd, just east of Emerson Ave.
Huge tv, food, pool, DJ. This place can get pretty rowdy late on a weekend night.

Driftys - 2363 Stop 11 Rd - 881-4487
Dance floor, live music, food, pool and electronic darts. Used to be Club Mark. Across the street from John Waynes bar. Taco Bell in the parking lot!

Green Door Lounge - 711 E Thompson Rd - 782-3862
Locate behind the liquor store, a little neighborhood bar, juke box.

Hal's Fabulous Vegas Bar & Grill - 1133 N. Meridian, Greenwood - 888-3427
New in 2006, this finely furnished bar includes leather couches in central area. Will an expensive, nice bar survive anywhere besides the far north side? I hope so, but I doubt it. $$$

Harley's Tin West - 10 W Hanna Ave - 788-0922
Fairly large facility, half restaurant, half bar. Opened November 2005. Has a stage for a band and a dance floor.

Popular place. JukeBox/Bands, many pool tables and games, Dinner, $

Kelly's Pub - 1350 W Southport Road - 865-3900
Nice Strip mall bar, couple pool tables. I ate there once and it was good. I've seen kareoke in there as well as loud hip-hop by a dj - small dance floor.

Long Acre Bar - 4813 Madison Ave (just north of Thompson Rd.) - 784-0975
Old west style front porch. This place is definately a biker friendly bar.

Strip mall pub. Food, Juke Box, Kareoke, Pool, Electronic Darts, $$ Younger crowd.

One Liners Comedy & Music Hall - 50 Airport Pkwy - 889-5233

Oaken Barrel - 50 Airport Pkwy
Ok, I normally don't include restaurants in these lists, even when they have a nice bar. But this place is a brew pub with good food. You can't get your oridnary domestic beer here. They offer a sampler of their beers where you get six small glasses each with a different beer. There is a comedy club right next door. When you see where an airplane has crashed into the roof, you'll know you've found it.

Shallos Antique Restaurant & Brewhouse - in shopping center on NE corner of 31 (South East St) and County line road (across from Greenwood Park Mall) - 882-7997
Great pub decor. Two story. They have one of the largest beer lists in the Midwest, probably hundreds of beers. I once heard 350 different beers were available. It is certainly the best beer list in Indianapolis. The food is usually good. They have a family dining area and so now the place is completely non-smoking! They have great, but expensive beer though and bartenders who know their stuff.
